Hi again, Below is Brian's response to my request for a summary of what's coming up before the city commission: From: Waterman, Brian [mailto:Brian.Waterman@xxxxxxxxxx] Sent: Monday, December 09, 2013 10:49 AM Chip, The agenda item on Wednesday really focused on two key changes: SouthWood and the Holiday Service. The SouthWood change is the exact same proposal we discussed back in October with the exception of their being 10 trips a day to address the midday concerns. The holiday change is have consistency in what we offer with all holidays operating at a Sunday service level. This only affect three days out of the year and the holiday ridership supports this change. The other aspect is to let the Commissioners know we are going back to the public to take comments on another round of changes. These public meetings would take place in early January. More information should be available next week on when and where these meetings will take place. Brian S. As far as we know, StarMetro has made no public announcement or explanation of their upcoming request (recall after their last public discussion of this issue they withdrew their proposed changes to be re-worked). I've written them asking for a textual explanation (there are some maps attached to the agenda item, but they aren't clear as to the changes). John notes "holiday" service is being proposed to be changed to be the same as "Sunday" service, and he believes this may apply to Dial-a-Ride as well. He also believes that they are removing the route which runs directly from Southwood up Capitol Circle to NE Tallahassee, along with other route changes, and reductions in the number of times the buses run on various routes. I would suggest if you have any strong feelings on these issues that you may wish to wait perhaps until this evening for an official explanation from StarMetro, and if we don't end up with any, then I'd write the city commission based on John's understanding of things, to express your concerns.
