This seems very helpful and detailed Scott.

Maybe the Lighthouse will publish directions like these on their web page
eventually.

Darla,
Sorry you didn't make the Guide dog meeting this evening but I wanted to
inform you that there is now bus access to the Lighthouse thanks to Star
Metro installing a new bus stop at Highland Oaks terrace and Capital Circle.

We took a fieldtrip to the bus stop and it's not too difficult to get to and
from the Lighthouse.
Take bus 22 to the stop at Highland Oaks terrace, which is the second stop
on Capital Circle once the 22 turns onto Capital from Park avenue. Once you
get off the bus on Capital Circle turn left and walk about 30 feet to
Highland oaks terrace and take a right. There are two driveways to cross
before coming to a painted crosswalk on your left. Make that left, crossing
Highland Oaks terrace, and walk down the ramp and along that sidewalk until
you come to the Lighthouse's new home on your right.
I apologize for not knowing the exact distance from the last driveway to
the left turn on Highland Oaks terrace; I was trying to make sure my puppy
learned the route more than taking extra careful notes of exact distances. I
should also mention to you that when you make the return journey to get back
to the bus stop that the actual bus stop pole is offset in the grass several
feet. Evelyn just recommended that we journey the proper distance and wait
around for the bus since it should be quite obvious to the bus drivers why a
person with a visual impairment is standing around on Capital Circle where
there is no crosswalk to transverse Capital Circle. I'm doing this all from
memory and if anyone else has better directions to or from the bus stop to
the Lighthouse please correct any unintentional errors I made. I hope this
is helpful.
Sincerely,
     Scott Greenblatt Esq.
