Everybody,

The public Highway has guidelines,

people still violate them and,

it is not just those you might feel you know will,

everybody is out there riffing, for lack of a better term.

The guideline talk could last for ever before any public clientele gets it right and,

throwing people in jail has not helped at all.

The guideline that transcends them all in America is, ofcourse,

freedom!

Freedom of first one thing and then another, and everyone loves it and calls it up at liberty even though it kills some.

All love dying for it too.

Don't yall?

I did not say I didn't say I did not no the guide lines at all. I know
pretty much but I have heard people on this list say the same thing, after
you have scolded them. It is just this simple the list has no guide lines to be seen. You just make them up as you go and people can not predict what you
are thinking ahead of time. That is all I am saying. It wouldn't hurt to
have guide lines to go by.

Blackjack,

sorry, I don't buy your excuse that you didn't know the guidelines for the
list because they aren't posted each month.

everyone knows what's allowed and what isn't, by the name of the list alone.

And from time to time, I use specific examples of posts which aren't
blindness or Tallahassee related. those guidelines are simple enough we
don't need posting every month.

Now, for your particular post, Lynn was pointing out your remark about
"we've got too much government in our lives as it is." is both a politically
inflammatory statement, and off topic. I wasn't suggesting you change the
subject, I'm saying your particular political beliefs don't meet the list
rules, as well as having nothing to do with what was being discussed.

Chip I mint it to go to the list. This being said. I did mis
understand the thread where you responded to talking thermostats. I
thought you were talking about the new smart meters that a lot of the
electric companies are implementing. Sorry about the mis
understanding. As for changing the subject to reflect the thread I am
all for that. I had mention that several times and it seem to piss
everyone off. I think the subject should reflect the thread or
conversation. If you are using another thread or conversation to put
out a email to the list that is a change of conversation or thread the
subject should reflect that. I also personally think the list should
have some guide lines or rules set in place. Such as what is on topic,
what can and not be posted to the list, what language can and can not
be used and so on. This set of guide lines should be posted to the
list at least once a month and to each new member. This would keep
problem down.
People don't
know what is and what isn't. This would help keep from getting people
piss off at you and the list because they don't know what the rules
and guide lines is. Every email list I have known has this in place
except for this one. First list I ever seen did not have rules
specifically stating in plain under standable language. Just my
thoughts.

Thanks,
Blackjack

Blackjack,

well, if yu put it on the list it's to everyone. if you want it to go
to just one person, then send it to the person. I'm being asked to
remind folks to do that all the time.

Lynn's point, that we should try and stay on subject, is also one I'm
asked to remind folks to do.

this isn't meant to discourage you or anyone else from posting; just
reminding you to strike a balance.
