I, too, was impressed with the collaborative effort of all the Tallahassee organizations to raise awareness about white cane safety. I'm reminded of the song lyrics "United we stand, divided we fall..." I'm up for next year and hope everyone else will join us to tap our way to white cane safety!

Sila - yes, totally agree! It was so awesome to be able to tell visitors that all the major groups from our 'blindness community' were right there together at Lake Ella, and introduce newcomers to eveyone. Wonderful to have such a collaborative effort and to see so many folks come out to spread awareness. Way to go, Tallahassee! Let's keep it up! The fallweather was beautiful. Several groups of cane users and dog guide handlerswalked around Lake Ella, many wearing their snazzy White Cane t-shirts,(black with "Obey White Cane Safety - It's the Law! on the front and Close Your Eyes... Now Cross the Street on the back and depicting a white cane aswell). Don't worry, if you weren't there and didn't get one of these t-shirts, TCB still has them available at $15.00. (Contact me off list if you are interested in purchasing one. I can not express how proud of everyone I am and how happy it makes me tosee our organizations working in partnership for the betterment of ALL blind people! Way to go Tallahassee Blind Community folks!!! Lets do it again nextyear, ok? Respectfully and proudly!
