Yes but never done it! I get absentee ballot . But this would be and could be
very accessible if they would make a national standard for voting and you could
vote by phone or by the internet. This would be much easier and more people
would vote. This would be just as secure as absentee ballots or going to the
polls. There is no reason that voting by the internet and phone should have not
be implemented already! If the only way I could vote is going to a poll and
standing in line and hoping the machine I needed to use was working and I could
use it by myself then I would just never vote. I just not going to go and stand
in these lines at these polls. I don’t even stand in line for food very long.
So I do absentee ballot and get help with it. As of now I have someone I can
trust. Well as much as you can trust someone! This is why I want voting by the
internet or by phone. Then I can do it from the comfort of my home by myself!
There is no excuse in them not having this done and accessible to us! It is
just as safe and secure as any voting if it is done right! JMO!
Thanks,

So what did you do Elizabeth? Did you vote with sighted help. By all means
please compact the Supervisor of Elections office.
My experience went quite well. I had the key pad upside down but as soon as I
got it reversed things went smoothly.
The state ID card readers seem to have trouble reading the barcode but that
wasn’t much of an issue.
It sure feels good to be able to vote without sighed assistance.

Liz:
You may want to speak to Susie Caplowe. She’s the person in that office who has
been promoting accessible voting machines since 2008. She is genuinely
interested in wanting to know wat’s going on.
This is just one more example of why we need to get to know the folks who
handle voting at our individual polling places and offer to do some training
for them before elections.

Hi All,
If anyone is planning to vote at the Emanuel Baptist church, 2351 Mahan Drive,
the talking portion of the voting machine does not work. I went there happily
expecting to vote like I did last time, and SURPRIZE!
I will be calling the Supervisor of elections office tomorrow.
