your credit score is used for the price of so many things these days; your
car insurance as you say, but also when you apply to rent an apartment, a
lot of landlords now use your credit score to determine if they will rent to
you or not, and some use it to vary the amount of the rent. some employers
are using it to determine whether you will be hired.
you asked why? the argument says they've found people who are irresponsible
with their money, are often irresponsible drivers, and irresponsible
employees, and don't pay their rent on time, and so on. It's why I try and
talk people out of filing bankruptcy, as it has all kinds of unforseen
effects on your life. Not to mention, obvious ones like which credit cards
you can get, at which rates.

Well I said it need to be tweak some I would say the points would go away in
a year from the date they was put there but your record would be there for
ever and the insurance companies would only be able to do as it does now go
back three years. But they could not rate your insurance according to your
credit score. What does your credit score has to do with how safe you drive.
What Posted would be a starting point and it would need to be tweaked . You
have to start some where.
