Hi All,Received this interesting transportation info from a friend and wondered if anyone else, especially in the Orlando area had heard of it? With times as they are, this might be the way to go.
Take care, Sila
Hi Sila I was listening to NPR radio, and they were talking about the ITN, Independent Transportation Network, that is in Orlando FL. They have a website: http://itnorlando.org/ Their mission statement is: To provide a community-based, community-supported, economically viable and consumer-oriented, quality transportation service for seniors and adults with visual impairment. Characteristics of the Service: * Available 24 hours a day, 7 days a week. * Available for any type of ride within the service area, with no limitations on ride purpose. Rides are provided in private automobiles by trained drivers. * People 60 years and older, and adults with visual impairments are eligible to join. * Rides may be booked at any time; discounts are applied for shared rides and advance notice. There is also a national website: http://www.itnamerica.org/ Here is the link to the web-page that shows a US map where ITN services have been established: http://itnamerica.org/content/AffiliateSites.php Is this something that FCB could get involved in to establish more ITN service areas in Florida?
