There is also a video interviewing the kid on CNN

The next time your kid is whiling away the hours with bits of Lego, leave him
be.
There`s a good chance that Shubham Banerjee, a California seventh grader, did
the
same before he created a Braille printer out of Lego for a science fair project.
Braille printers cost about $2,000 but Banerjee`s comes in at around $350.
That`s what he paid for a Lego Mindstorms EV3 kit along with a few dollars of
hardware
from Home Depot,
cnet.com reported
.
It says Banerjee took a basic, pre-existing pattern for a printer and reworked
it
with new software and hardware enhancements to print out letters in braille.
He calls his creation the Braigo.
