Chip I took the quote from your post but left out your name and contact info.

below is what Iwrote:

Will the trip planner be a Google product. Someone on another mailing list said:

think it's a real shame that StarMetro chose to reinvent the wheel with their
own trip planner, rather than send their info to Google, which already has an
accessible trip planning system, and which also happens to interface with the
navigation systems for the blind.

Thank you Lynn. if you find out it is not a google product, would you please
pass on to them my comments thatt the google product would interface with gps
navigation systems for the blind, in case they would consider providing google
the needed info?

  thanks.

I am not sure but I think the trip planner will be a Google product. I beta
tested such a thing a few years back using Star Metro data.

I will check on the trip planner and report back to the list.

Mr. Waterman, how about it? could yo also send the trip info to Google
Transit?

StarMetro Updates Website with New System Information

Today, customers can visit Talgov.com/StarMetro to view information
on StarMetro's new decentralized system, which takes effect on July 11. The
updated website features route maps and timetables for the new system.

"Until the launch of the new system, customers will also be able to
access our current route information," said Ron Garrison, executive director of
StarMetro. "Even though we are two months away from the launch of the new
system, we felt that it was necessary to begin publicizing the new route maps
and time tables."

In the near future, StarMetro will implement additional changes to
help improve the customer experience. Closer to the launch of the new system,
two new web applications - trip planning and online fare purchase - will also
launch. With the trip planning application, StarMetro customers will be able to
type in a beginning point, end point and arrival time; the application will
then relay to the customer a detailed travel itinerary using StarMetro's new
system. With the online fare purchase application, StarMetro customers will be
able to purchase a 31-day fare card using their personal credit card via
Talgov.com/StarMetro.
