ESSENTIAL JOB FUNCTIONS: . Develop programs that promote the mission of the LRC, subject to the approval of the Curator and the Board . Work with Curator, Historic Capitol Museum Staff, and LRC Board of Directors to revise strategic plan for LRC and Florida Historic Capitol Museum . Work with Curator and Development Staff to coordinate and administer activities of the Florida Historic Capitol Foundation . Identify and solicit donors and grants to support the missions of the LRC and Historic Capitol Foundation . Maintain communication with current and former members and legislative staff to promote the missions of the LRC and Florida Historic Capitol Museum . Plan and organize the Annual Statesman's Luncheon . Plan and organize the biannual House and Senate member reunion . Oversee an archive management system for Legislator Video Histories, Legislative Session Recordings and the Inventory of Historic Photos, and archival material of former members . Oversee LRC contracts, including, but not limited to, the Oral History Program and An Historical Perspective Program . Respond to research requests within the scope of the LRC program mission . Maintain website for LRC . Perform other duties assigned by the Curator NON-ESSENTIAL JOB FUNCTIONS: . Assist with special events at Historic Capitol Museum as required . Develop a publicity program promoting LRC programming and publications (in coordination with publicity efforts of the Florida Historic Capitol Museum) . Provide museum tours to dignitaries and VIPs as needed DESIRED MINIMUM QUALIFICATIONS: A bachelor's degree from an accredited college or university with major coursework in museum studies, public history, political science, or a related field and six years of professional experience in research, analysis, program planning and evaluation or administrative work in a library or museum; or A master's degree from an accredited college or university in museum studies, public history or a related field and five years of professional experience in research, analysis, program planning and evaluation or administrative work in a library or museum preferred. Professional experience as described above can substitute on a year-for-year basis for the required college education. KNOWLEDGE, SKILLS AND ABILITIES: Flexibility and creativity; ability to be organized and self-directed; ability to multi-task; ability to follow directions; ability to work in a team-oriented environment; ability to communicate effectively, verbally and in writing; ability to maintain effective working relationships with board members, donors, volunteers, area schools and teachers, supervisor, other agencies, and the public.
