This exercise enjoyed bi-partisan support, provided valuable feedback and helped illuminate for many Members the complexity and the significance of the funding decisions House Members must make. Today, the Office of Public Information is proud to announce Speaker Cannon has invited all Floridians to participate in this important exercise. Tomorrow morning, the Office of Public Information will announce the creation of a new webpage on the Florida House of Representatives homepage called "Build Your Own Budget <http://www.myfloridahouse.gov/contentViewer.aspx?category=WebSite&file=buil d_your_own_budget.htm> ." The page is operational now for your review. Through the Build Your Own Budget page, the public will be invited to engage in the exact same exercise as House Members using the same Subcommittee budget spreadsheets Members reviewed just weeks ago (available for download). Participants will be encouraged to try their hand at balancing Florida's budget and to share their results with their respective Members. We encourage all House Members and staff to engage the public in this exercise and we look forward to reporting about its success. Thank you.
