I know nothing about this particular app, but I do know this developer is
responsive to the needs of Voice Over users, so I thought I’d pass this along.

Subject: New app from Patronus – Snug!
Introducing Snug – a daily check-in companion for people living alone

Something new to share: Snug.
We are always trying to help you feel safer and design the best experience by
asking for feedback. This ranges from having phone conversations with users
like you, to being really responsive to support requests. We recently had a
conversation with a fellow Patronus user, Jan, who wanted more from Patronus.
Jan is 70 years old, a retired nurse, and is very active – she walks over 6
miles a day and has biked in all 50 states (she actually just completed this
goal, biking in Alaska 3 weeks ago!) However, Jan lives alone and has a medical
condition that gives her cause for concern.
So, she came to us with a request for Patronus: could we add a simple way for
her to interact with the app every day, that would make sure she's okay?
Furthermore, if she didn't interact because something had happened, someone
would be notified to check in on her.
After talking to a few other active seniors, we realized this could be helpful
and were inspired to create a prototype. To keep things simple we decided to
create a standalone app that was focused solely on this interaction, rather
than tacking it on to the main Patronus app.
That new app is called Snug, and it is now available for download on the App
How does Snug work?
1. Users sign up by providing their name, address, and emergency contacts,
and picking a daily check in time.
2. Snug pings the user at their chosen time every day, prompting them to
visit the app to “check in.”
3. When the user checks in, they receive an inspirational Quote of the Day
and the 24 hour timer resets. If the user does not check in, their personal
Snug dispatcher gives them a call to make sure they are ok.
4. If they do not answer the call, their Snug dispatcher notifies their
emergency contacts and requests a “Wellness Check” to their address from the
local police department.
Snug is perfect for seniors and individuals living alone. We've designed it to
be incredibly simple and easy to understand, no matter how comfortable (or
uncomfortable!) one may be with new technology. If you're interested in trying
Snug, download it today –
14 days free, then just $9.99 per month or $99 per year.

"I love the service, the friendly and prompt responses, and the knowledge that
someone is "out there" checking in on me on a daily basis."
