Chip _____ From: Molly Jow [mailto:jow.molly@xxxxxxxxx] Sent: Monday, August 01, 2011 3:14 PM To: acorange@xxxxxxxxxxx Subject: Blind Authors Project: User Study Follow Up Dear Chip, First of all, thank you for taking the time to help us with our project. We greatly appreciate your assistance and feedback. We are conducting a user study of the new technology that we've developed to check document formatting. If you're willing to test it out, we'd love to get your feedback. Here are the instructions to complete the user study for the Microsoft Office Word 2007 Formatting Checker Add-in. Please complete this user study by August 3rd, 2011 and enter your email in the survey for a chance to win a $50 Amazon.com gift card. Or complete it by August 12, 2011 and enter your email in the survey for a chance to win a $25 Amazon gift card. Note: To be able to use the Add-in you must have one of the Windows operating systems (XP, Vista or 7) and, most importantly, the Microsoft Office 2007 system. 1. Begin by reading the Manual (available in 3 formats: .docx, .doc and .pdf) 2. Install the Formatting Checker Add-in by following the instructions in the Manual. Note: After you install the Add-in, you need to close the Manual and open it again in order for the Add-in to appear as one of the ribbon tabs. 3. Familiarize yourself with the Add-in by using it to inspect one of your word processed documents. 4. Inspect and correct the document called: "Formatting Checker User Study Document" (available in 2 formats: .docx and .doc) 5. Save the document after you correct and send it to: <mailto:lmmoralesvill@xxxxxxxxx> lmmoralesvill@xxxxxxxxx 6.
