i'm going to get the trial version of this program and use it. 50 bucks doesn't sound bad at all if it does everything it says it can.

Looks like it is $49 from Future System Solutions at:

there's a free trial version link on their site as well.

I don't know if anyone else may be a reseller and so may have better
prices.

And one more bit of info on Casper for you Governor: it will make
backups, onto a USB external drive, so that the drive is
bootable. this
way, if your drive completely fails, you can boot from your
backup drive
to use your computer, and to restore the drive contents.
here's how the
Casper owner phrases it, when trying to convince others to
upgrade to
the latest version:

"for those useing older versions of casper cloneing
software. version 6
does
something i never thought possable.
if your computer bios supports booting from a usb device
casper6 makes
backups to a usb drive bootable from the u s b port. until now i was
never
able to boot vista from a external drive to restore the c
drive. now it
boots with speech running so you still have speech.
until casper 6 the external drive would keep restarting and
would not
get
past the windows progress bar."

Hi Governor,

I asked on the blind technology list about screen-reader
friendly backup
software. If you're willing to spend a little money, by
far the best
was said to be Casper. Very easy to use.

For free:
"Microsoft Sync Toy
and Karen's Replicator, are both free and work very well
with screen
readers."

was the answer I got.

hth,

guys use?

I'm looking at comodo backup. Doesn't seem accessible at all. I'd
appreciate any ideas you all will have.
