Neal,

In short, I don't know. This is all decided by the LAME encoder, and is based
on the parameters of the file you are encoding, along with the settings you
have selected. Usually one needs to experiment to figure out exactly what the
defaults are doing.

Subject: [studiorecorder] Question about MP3 variable bitrate settings

Hi Rob. If I am saving a .stereo wav file with VBR checked, bit rate 160, what
are the defaults for the following settings?
Sample rate.
Mode. If it's mono, then I assume that is mono, but what about stereo?
Max bit rate I assume would be 160
Quality.
And VBR quality.
Not sure what the difference is in the last two.

I realize I can set these, but it would be nice to know if I have to do this if
it is close to what I would set anyway.

Thanks for answers.

Neal
