haya!? and an official welcome to ST:FAB and the USS White Knight
ki, slaves in the imperium are *not* in any particular service but rather are
*owned* by them... so a slave on a starship is basically Domain Property
*unless* an officer with sufficient means or of a Prominent House brings them
aboard for personal service... in which case their tunic/shifts will be of a
different color, and a symbol in the usual *combadge* location to?indicate
ownership, like a house crest... BTW, astrafleet slaves wear RED -- gives new
meaning to "redshirt" -- with a symbol indicating ship, thus while the fleet
has one symbol each ship also has a "crest" for the slaves ala TOS
slaves in astrafleet as mentioned usually perform menial duties, remember the
more chain-links on tunic collars the lower their status.. but the lesser the
higher their status and the more authority they can exert over the "chain
gangs" under them...?
NEW Note: embroidery "chainery" will now come in colors;
> Black - general low level status
> Color - ownership by a business; color specifies area of "artisean"
> speciality; red specifies Astramata; pink = courtesan/sexslave
> Silver - ownership by a Secondary House
> Gold - ownership by a Primary House
>>?*chainery on black tunics* - Black tunics?(white chainery = usual black)?is
>>reserved for general service to the Imperium House/House of The Emperor
>>>*chainery on metallic tunics* - metallics is reserved for *House of Ceasar*;
>>>service to the person of Ceasar
a lot of detail here that might NOT end up being used by the WK plotline.. but
like i said, the entire universe is so interesting...?so KEEP these notes on
hand for the future...

Universe
Hey:
First time emailing on the list, but hopefully most everyone has seen
me either lurking about, or rping in one of the sims lately. So I
guess this is an official hi there!
Also, since this is relevant to the character I was making for the USS
White Knight, could I get some clarification on slavery in the Romanon
Astrafleet? It was my understanding from the conversation I had that
there were slaves in the Astrafleet, but this email makes it sound as
though that is not correct. Would it be more correct to say there are
slaves onboard an Astrafleet vessel, but those slaves are not *in* the
Astrafleet? They would, I gather, be there doing menial tasks/etc?
Any further background would be cool, it sounds like I need to edit
the background slightly based on inferences. =)
Chris
Aim: Ctenseet, which is soon to change =)
