and a good start was made on the sanding. I have in mind the hull of the
Craster boat in terms of the quality of finish in the full knowledge that
this is unlikely to be attainable due to its perfection. It remains however

The bow of the boat is nearest the door as you walk in to the garage which
makes the side on the left the port side as the boat is upside-down. The
planks are numbered from the keel down 1,2 etc.At this point sanding needs to
be methodical and thorough wether by hand or with a sander. Chose a plank or
share a plank and sand down its length.if a plank is finished please note
that on the work sheet on the right. If its half finished, note which end you
started. A sanded plank should have no evidence of brush marks or ripples,
only the scratches and other damage , it should feel smooth. If you are short
, do a low plank.
For those with more than sanding skills, any exposed wood should be skimmed
evenly with the paint which has arrived as an undercoat. For those used to
resins and fillers feel free to mend the damage in a methodical fashion. I
would hope the sanding is finished by thursday and paint can be applied.

Rowing is the activity that can occur only after a boat has been built and
only if it is properly maintained. Please lend the club your elbow for an
hour or three this week.
The garage can be accessed at any time. All the committee members have keys
and Steve lives opposite. I think for ease of communication and to involve as
many as possible , anyone who is free should use this thread. I don’t mind
the email being busy for a week.
