Nah... postgresql won't restart. No error messages on the attempts either.
I'll be turning up the juice on the reporting to debugging mode here soon.

Okay, now this makes sense. The machne was inexpliciblay down when I went
to the office this morning, and rebooted with no apparent problems. I
guess it's time to do a full system audit. I'm sure I have a recent backup
around here somewhere....
