No, you are missing the not-very-obvious.  Do Parts & Services | 
reports.  It redraws the menu and allows you to choose, say, parts.  
either list all or some parts in your report and then click on the 
highlighted name of the part you want to edit.  Hey presto!

THere are one or two areas of SL that are accessed rather obliquely.  
Just a matter of knowing.
