German version of SL is very good, overall.
A few minor "bugs" are there, however.
(1) The abbreviation for "number" is "Nr.", not "No.",
and we normally put a hyphen between to words that belong
together; so account number (acc. no.) becomes "Konto-Nummer",
or "Kto.-Nr.".
(2) Date format
It is a little misleading that in the drop down menus
for configuring the date format there are only two
digits for the year, even for formats that are actually
displayed with four digits (which is much better, anyway).
The only format that has four year digits in the select
box is ISO (yyyy-mm-dd). However, when I choose this format,
I get totally inconsistent results.
In an invoice the invoice date is displayed in my browser
in ISO format, when I create the invoice. But when I print
it, I get this format: "Mai 20, 2003".
Now, Mai is correct for May. But the format as a whole is
not something you will encounter in German speaking countries.
While ISO is becoming popular slowly, we normally use these
formats:
20. Mai 2003
20.5.2003
20.05.2003
5.5.2003
05.05.2003
Some people prefer two-digit years.
You won't see 5.05.2003, 05.5.2003 or Mai 5, 2003.
The bottom line is: Why don't I simply get ISO format
in the output, when I specify it in the user configuration?
Sincerely
Alex
