Gentle Subscribers will find this year's round-up of problematic toys and a checklist of safety tips for the careful toy shopper. "In the last 26 years, our research and reporting have led to at least 130 recalls. Yet every year, we find new dangers on store shelves. Last year alone, more than 250,000 kids went to the ER with toy-related injuries, many of which could have been avoided." - from the website The site provides an executive summary of the full report, highlighting areas of special concern to consumers. Specifically, these include toys that may contain potentially toxic substances like lead, or whose small parts may constitute a choking danger, as well as those which produce excessively loud sounds.
