sleep disorders, provides trustworthy scientific information about sleep and the
issues surrounding it for the general public. Gentle Subscribers, who may have
experienced periods of not sleeping well, or have someone close to them in those
circumstances, may find this presentation a useful resource.

sleeps, not everyone sleeps well. Each night more than 70 million Americans who

The site features articles describing how sleep affects specific groups of the
population -- men, women, children and older adults -- and the issues which can
affect the quality of sleep for these groups. Also considered are the effects of
sleep problems on daily activities. Additional sections take a look at sleep
studies, various types of sleep problems, from restless leg syndrome to sleep
apnea, as well as common treatments for a number of sleep-related conditions.
Current news reports related to sleep are also available, covering areas of
recent
scientific research, as well as more specific topics such as jet lag, and a new
