The Department of Psychology at the University of Regensburg in Germany in
conjunction with the University of Rostock offers a fascinating online
presentation of their project to determine what constitutes beauty. Despite
its title, Gentle Members will find this to be a serious yet absorbing
academic website.

"Find out about  why some faces are more beautiful than others, how
scientists help unravel the mystery of beauty and the dangerous
relationship between a beautiful body and social power." - from the website

The site presents a powerful analysis of the concept of facial beauty using
computer morphing technology. The contents include a summary of the report,
specific sections on morphing faces and the roles of symmetry and skin in
determining beauty. A range of the images used in the experiments are
included in the presentation as well as an eye-opening feature on the
"Virtual Miss Germany".
