Memload v.2.0 - Software of the Month

A few years ago, RAM costs were stratospheric. These days computer memory
prices have declined so dramatically that it is relatively inexpensive to
add ample memory. However, even as RAM prices went down, common
applications became more bloated and RAM consumption increased. To keep a
wary eye on exactly what programs are particularly greedy consumers of RAM
resources, the List presents this handy utility to its gentle members.

Memload, from Swedish programmer Johan Samuelson, offers a simple interface
which lists all currently running programs, including those ones which run
sight unseen, and a breakdown of the specific RAM usage of each, giving the
total amount of available RAM, the total amount being used and the amount
still free.

The download zip file is a mere 28.2 MB, while the executable weighs in at
an extremely modest 36.0 kb.
