For the List's gentle members who prefer to do some virtual travelling
during this vacation season, today's website features the world famous art
gallery in Paris, The Louvre.

Easily accessible areas of the site include a "History of the Louvre, a
selection of the works of art from each of the seven departments of the
museum and a Virtual Tour presenting 70 images QTVR  (360=B0) which allow
[the visitor] to discover about fifty rooms of the museum. [The] latest
news . . . aims to periodically highlight a work taken from the museum's
collection via an article written by one of the curators of the Louvre."  -

While some features are available only in French, most of the above
sections are presented in English, Spanish and Japanese. Naturally, the
most notable pieces of the more than 6000 paintings in the collection, like
the Mona Lisa, are available to online visitors, subdivided by country and
period.
