Got a Digital Camera for Christmas? Learn How to Use It

Today's site, from Darren Rowse of the Digital Photography School website,
offers a great introduction to digital photography. Gentle Subscribers
still wondering what all those settings mean on their new digital cameras
-- point and shoot or the more heavy hitting SLR variety -- may find this
presentation extremely helpful.

"Digital camera sales look like reaching record levels this Christmas so
with millions of new cameras in the hands of their new owners I thought it
might be helpful to put together a series of tutorials that help new
digital camera owners to get the most of their cameras. ... [I]t?s the
new to semi experienced digital camera owner that this site is aimed at
..." - from the website

Divided into five main categories, these tutorials cover topics such as
Using Your Camera, How to Get Out of Auto Mode and Introduction to
Exposure. Among the these themes are basic introductions to shutter speed,
aperture, and ISO settings, while Composition gets the nod with the basics
of the rule of thirds, getting horizons horizontal and backgrounds right,
and photographing children. Additional material deals with the equipment
itself and some interesting techniques and how-to's.
