        Igloo Builders Guide

Since practically all Gentle Subscribers want to be armed with the
indispensable facts on igloo building, today's site from Norwegian Geir
Drange, will prove to be just the site they need. It provides crystal-clear
instructions, complete with photos, on how to construct these sturdy snow
shelters.

"Building an igloo is easy and fun. And the igloo is a great place to spend
the night on a small 'expedition' in the mountains. Much warmer than a
tent, and can be built just about anywhere. Building an igloo will take
somewhere between 3 and 6 hours, depending on your previous experience and
level of ambition... This page is a small guide on building an igloo." -
from the website

The web page explains the steps involved, from the modest tools required --
basically a shovel and a ski -- to determining the best spot to build. The
remaining steps detail cutting and placing the blocks and finishing the
structure, including an L-shaped entrance. The thumbnail photos may be
enlarged for an expanded view of the construction in progress.
