In need of a Crossword Helper or a Meeting Room Size Calculator?
Normally the List prefers to offer a site or webpage which is complete in
itself instead of a database of resources to other sites. Occasionally, the
List encounters a truly useful resource, in the nature of an indispensable
reference, which deserves to be presented to its gentle members. Today's
site, Measure for Measure, is such a resource.
Measure 4 Measure is "a collection of interactive sites on the web that
estimate, calculate, evaluate, translate, etc. In other words they do the
work for you." - from the website
This up-to-date collection of links to every conceivable type of calculator
is divided into five categories: Science / Math, Health, Finance, All Round
the House and a Measure of Everything Else. From a Biopolymer Calculator
which will "Calculate the molecular weight, the extinction coefficient, the
concentration, and the melting temperature of a single stranded nucleic
acid," to the more prosaic Deck Estimator, Loan Comparison and
Blood-Alcohol Content Calculators, the range of types is outstanding.
This site is certainly worth adding to any list of reference websites.
