        Food Irradiation

From the Iowa State University Extension Food Safety Project comes this
informative site on food irradiation. Gentle Members with less than all the
facts surrounding this still controversial process will find down-to-earth
material from this reputable source.

The site offers articles explaining the food irradiation process, its uses,
regulations governing its application and the nutritional quality of
irradiated foods. An animated view of a linear accelerator used in food
irradiation provides a helpful visual. In addition, the site covers the
history of irradiation, consumer questions about the process, a glossary of
terms as well as links to further information.
