Hi Liz and others:

 

I never fill mine but cover it with double thickness of a paper towel
(cotton fabric) and put a rubber band around it and leave in the sun.  I
found when I used the jar lid I did get mould.

Just thought I'd put my 2 cents worth in J

Yeah I know it sounds odd.

 

But, if I don't completely fill the jar with oil then there is air and I get
mould, and that really annoys me as I have to throw it all away and start
again.  So I always fill right to the top.
