Not an expert, I'd say but I would say my priorities and exposures may be different and therefore I have taken a different path in scent than others. I like depth, complexity and inspiration in scent (but that extends to music, taste, texture and colour too) From: soapcraft-bounce@xxxxxxxxxxxxx [mailto:soapcraft-bounce@xxxxxxxxxxxxx] On Behalf Of Louise Shing Sent: Tuesday, 30 March 2010 7:55 a.m. To: soapcraft@xxxxxxxxxxxxx Subject: [soapcraft] Re: Closing Soap Swap & What I learnt You really need to take a course on scents Ross, you're clearly an expert in the area. It was fun. I learnt: * My label needs revamping. * Perhaps a higher % of coconut oil will contribute to even more bubbles -experimentation required. * I need to rethink my opinion of fragrant oils. * Titanium dioxide can create fabulous effects. All in all the soap swap rekindled a desire to experiment more. I really wish I could capture the scent of feijoas - it is just adorable. Unfortunately when soaped you wouldn't know the fruit was even there. Shame. Thank you all. Thank you all for participating. It was fantastic to see everyone's techniques and concepts. We had a really diverse range of soap/ers I think we have all learned something during this process which was the aim of the swap. I learned: . My boxes don't travel well! (Have started posting in boxes) . About potassium lactate . Natural colours can be fabulous Please continue to post any overflowing comments if you need to. Let's all start thinking about if we would like to do another swap/challenge in the nearish future and when you would like to do that. I am keen to do a themed fragrance blend challenge.
