Subject: [employmentfordisabledyouth] European experiences

Dear All,

With the help of a grant from the European Commission, we have been working for
the past two-and-a-half years in Athens, Greece, to develop vocational training
methods in the field of Information Technology, especially for (unemployed)
disabled people. We based the training on the Danish "NetJob" training model,
working closely with IT companies to develop the curriculum and on-the-job
training programme. The trainees were aged 18+. The majority of them are now in
work as Web designers, database managers and IT specialists.

We have made a Web site, where we have gathered a wide range of (European)
policy documents and training materials, all of which can be downloaded. The
Web site also aims to stimulate employers' organisations and Trades Unions to
be more active when it comes to training and recruiting disabled people.
