Dear Sébastien Sablé <,
I was so surprised with the Vietnamese sentences "Ch? đi đâu đó" on the
online translation!!! "Braille display" is translated into Vietnamese as
"Màn h?nh ch? n?i". For few years ago, I learned using Linux system and I
knew that there were some popular screen readers at that time such as
Emacspeak, Speakup and just maybe more than one year ago, there was another
project to package one distribution called "Oralux". There is also a Braille
translation software called "Brltty" developped for using Braille displays
under Linux environment. I hope it helps. And feel very free to send me
messages!
Hopefully, receiving your LibBraille test version for Vietnamese in coming
time!
Best wishes,
Phuc

It seems to be correct with your online translation as the number of

recognize these utf-8 characters so Jaws sends these output characters to
the Braille display as "?" (question mark). Could LibBraille work together
with Jaws? I really want to test it.
I don't think Libbraille can run at the same time as Jaws, since both
would use the serial communication with the Braille display at the same
time and this would make a conflict.
However you can install Libbraille on the same computer as Jaws and run
Libbraille if you desactivate Jaws during that time.
At this time Libbraille is mostly used for stand alone applications with
an output directly in Braille (like MozBraille for example). I hope some
screen readers will be based on Libbraille soon, but I suppose this will
probably be for Linux systems rather than Windows (I don't know any open
source screen reader being developed for windows?).
At this time, the Unicode (and so Vietnamese) is not supported directly
in Libbraille but just in the online web translator. I am working on
putting it directly in Libbraille; the web translator is a way to test
that the tables and translation is done correctly.
Can I ask you a last help? I would like to know how you say "Braille
display" in vietnamese. This is to put an example text on the translator
for Vietnamese...
Thank you again for your help. As soon as Unicode will work in
Libbraille (in February or March) I will update the MB408S driver and
send you a test program with some Vietnamese strings.
Bye
