I made one mistake. I wanted to say: pbbuttonsd and OSS (Open Sound
System) emulation of ALSA doesn't work.
For pbbuttonsd to work, you need the event devices in /dev/input. If
pbbuttonsd is started via /etc/rc.d/rc.pbbuttonsd you maybe don't see
the warning. If you start it manually, you can see, that it complains
about not getting any key events. Pbbuttonsd wants to see
/dev/input/event? devices. I'm quite sure /dev/pmu doesn't help with this.
All I said is only true, if someone uses hotplug and udev to dynamically
create and delete devices in /dev.
I write all this, because I really like the slackintosh idea. I'm
familar with slackware and I like to use it also on my iBook. I'm happy
somebody did the hard work to port this to PPC.
