i'm runnin' slack.OSh 11.
i just installed and i didn't change anythin' in configuration files.
hotplug doesn't find audio card at boot but i tried modprobe snd_powermac
and it gives no error (i checked lsmod too), so i "pumped up the volume" but
i can't ear any sound :-(

which version of slackintosh are you running?
alsaconf *SHOULD* recognize your card, as snd_powermac has been built
into our kernels.
If you're running 11.0, however, you should take care of the changes
made into the module management:
