Upgrading works exactly the same as it does on Slackware:
 http://slackware.at/data/slackware-11.0/UPGRADE.TXT

slapt-get with --dist-upgrade might also work.

Well.. about yaboot: The bootloader itself is always installed inside
the 800kb bootstrap partition. Upgrading or even removing the yaboot
package does *not* affect the bootloader in any way: Simply upgrade
your 10.2 to 11.0 and run 'ybin' after you are done to install
the new yaboot binary inside the bootstrap partition.
(But this is optional because the 'old' yaboot binary would
also work just fine .. )

/dev/hdb should work just fine. The setups yaboot-installer had some
hardcoded paths on 10.2 but this has been fixed in 11.0
