Problem solved. Although this computer is probably (also) flagging,
everything pretty much seems to work now, including the video under X.
I needed to install the xf86-video-fbdev from freedesktop.org, and
include
append="video=radeonfb:off radeon.modeset=1"
in /etc/yaboot.conf
Does anybody here know why the xf86-video-fbdev driver is not in
-current?
