-----BEGIN PGP SIGNED MESSAGE----- Hash: SHA1 I'm running it on a PowerMac G3 266MHz, which is OldWorld. I have a small OS9 partition to boot from, which runs BootX (http://penguinppc.org/bootloaders/bootx/) on startup to restart into Linux. If your machine has OpenFirmware, you may be able to hack it to run an alternative bootloader. Check the NetBSD docs for this: http://www.netbsd.org/Ports/macppc/ When I installed it, I had to use a different kernel than the one supplied by Slackintosh (I used the one from Gentoo 2005.0, but I have since tried - and would recommend - the current stable 2.6 from http://www.ppckernel.org/). You also have to boot with kernel arguments 'root=/dev/ram0 init=/linuxrc ramdisk_size=10240 rw', and you need to specify the installer initrd off the installation CD as your init ramdisk. See this for reference: //www.freelists.org/archives/slackintosh-users/10-2005/msg00026.html Thanks Adrian. =) Mikael Andersson Computer Technician McMaster University Humanities Media & Computing Togo Salmon Hall, Room 207 1280 Main Street West Hamilton, Ontario, Canada L8S 4M2 Phone 905.525.9140 Ext. 24429 Fax 905.577.6930 Email manders@xxxxxxxxxxx czezz wrote: > Hello everyone, > I've got short question: is here any chance to run slackintsh on PowerPC > 4400/200 ? > I was reading in FAQ that it should be New-World Macintosh (G3-600mhz) > but it is not said that it is minimum requirements. > > Best regards, > czezz > -----BEGIN PGP SIGNATURE----- Version: GnuPG v1.4.2.2 (GNU/Linux) Comment: Using GnuPG with Mozilla - http://enigmail.mozdev.org iD8DBQFErAf7E1mfiAKXZc0RAkPcAJ9TZp8AAv4DSp1VDFAJv8ERnGeLJwCgkF0I s141tWxh3LP8m5hzaBrlCPM= =dIP7 -----END PGP SIGNATURE-----
