I did change kernels and probably the .config. Problem disappeared when I used a more recent kernel - 22.214.171.124 126.96.36.199 - Error messages 188.8.131.52 - No error messages Possibly the problem was some parameter in .config The bottom line is that those error messages are gone and I don't have a good reason to track down which configuration parameter may have been responsible.
