Hi,

alt1 is also 2.6 based.
Workaround:
- Boot from cdrom
-> at the yaboot prompt enter:
alt1 root=/dev/hdaX (<- hdaX = your root partition)
The system should now boot your installation
- Mount the cdrom : eg /mnt/cdrom
- copy /mnt/cdrom/boot/vmlinuxalt1 into /boot
- edit /etc/yaboot.conf
- run 'ybin -v'
-> reboot
