Hello all...

... A Winter Storm Warning is in effect for Northwestern RI and much of
Southern NewEngland with a significant ice storm headed are way. There is a
potential for numerous power outages from ice coating wires and trees

...A Winter Weather Advisory is in effect for Eastern Kent, Western Kent and
Southern Providence Countys for sleet and freezing rain that should go
through the night and change back to all rain Sat morning. Around or a
little more than a .50" of ice accretion is expected

....SKYWARN Activation with Ops at NWS Taunton likely overnight followed by a
break around Midnight with Ops reactivated Saturday Morning between 6 and 9

...SKYWARN Activation is expected in two phases. The first phase being
overnight from 5-6 PM through 11 PM or Midnight. The second phase commencing
somewhere between 6 and 9 AM through Midday to cover this threat. While the
storm structure is very different, an ice storm similiar to November 16th,
2002 only potentially covering a larger area is what needs to be watched
carefully with this storm.

...I will keep everyone updated on the threat if anything changes. Get your
battery backups, flashlights and any other things you might need just in case
power does go out. Another email will be sent out by 10pm tonight.
