Vytautas,

This is excellent news. I was getting a little worried.

I need to update the system requirements on the site to make it clear what
setup is needed to run the scripts.

Out of interest, how different is the Canadian English layout from the US
layout?

Claudio, looks like you touched the solution to the problem. I've changed
my regional English keyboard layout from English-Canada to English-U.s., and
the problem disappeared instantly. Now the reaction is immediate and the
work process flows now. Thousand thanks for touching this issue.

Cheers
Vytautas

Vytautas
Is it an English windows? An English JAWS or international? An English
Sibelius version? What keyboard layout are you using "option regional and
languistic (or whatever it's called in English)". And finally, is your JAWS
in the "basic option" set to desktop?

Claudio

I've done that and the response is a bit faster, but the note names are not
pronounced.

Disable the plugin but keep JAWS active.

Vytautas,

What is the zoom level of the score?
Try pressing ALT+EQUALS to set the zoom level to 400%.
Does it make a difference?

Also, could you try disabling the plug-in and then navigating in the score.
It would help to know if things are still running slowly when the plug-in is
not active.

Yes, with JAWS unloaded there is no problem. And I just tried it out with
JAWS 9, it's a bit faster: a bit under 1 second instead of 2-4 seconds.

Also, in case this may influence things, I was just forced to switch to a
Toshiba Portege r500, which is said to be a very fancy laptop but has only
1.2 CPU and 1 giga ram.

Always the case.  Only sometimes it's a bit faster sometimes a bit slower;
when it's slower, the tones are longer when I arrow onto a note.

Try unloading and reloading JAWS. Also, how many and what other apps are
open? Did this start recently , or was it always the case from the first
day you installed Sib Access? Kevin

Hi Sibelians,

I was wondering if the following occurrences I am getting while editing my
scores is normal or not; since I don't seem to hear much about people having
this issue, it's possible that I am missing something (which would be
wonderful considering that one could fix this instantly). As I navigate and
insert notes and so on, the response is often very slow;a good few seconds
elapse between arrowing onto an item and hearing it or about it from JAWS.
It results that it takes me about 5-10 minutes to edit one bar. Is this a
frequent issue of beta releases that will go away eventually, or am I doing
something wrong or not doing something necessary. I thought I've seen
someone else mention a similar issue either here or on Midimag, but can't
find the message, so I thought it would be good if I asked again.

Many Thanks in advance,

Cheers

Vytautas
