Dolet 6 for Sibelius

The MusicXML import feature in Sibelius lets you read files from people who
use other music programs. But how can you share your own music created in
Sibelius
with people who use other programs?

Dolet 6 for Sibelius unchains your music by letting you save your scores
from Sibelius 5, 6, or 7 as MusicXML 3.0 files that
Finale
and other music notation programs can read. Dolet 6 for Sibelius is
designed to work together with our
Dolet 6 for Finale
plug-in to give the best transfers possible using the MusicXML 3.0
format. The results are far more accurate and complete than using MIDI files.
You can
even translate an entire folder of Sibelius scores into MusicXML files in
one step.

Dolet 6 for Sibelius is a plug-in for Sibelius 5.1 and later that saves
MusicXML 3.0 files. To use it, you must have Sibelius 5.1 or later installed
on
your system. The plug-in runs on both Windows and Mac. The Windows version
is available as a Windows Installer file. The Mac version is available as a
Mac disk image, including an automated installer for Mac 10.5, 10.6, and
10.7 systems.

Due to limitations on Sibelius plug-ins, Dolet 6 for Sibelius is not
available for download in a "try-before-you-buy" mode. But you may watch a
video demonstration
here or on
YouTube.

At this point in history, the variety of ways of putting notes on paper with
a computer is absolutely staggering. The introduction of and continued
evolution
of MusicXML is absolutely essential to the music industry. Having
Recordare's Finale and Sibelius Dolet plug-ins on my computer has literally
saved me
hundreds of hours of extra work, saved my clients thousands of dollars as
well as being the deciding factor in making critical deadlines on more than
one
occasion.

Finale and Sibelius keep changing and it's great to see (with the
introduction of MusicXML 3.0) that Recordare is staying one step ahead of
the game and
helping me do the same! I'm really impressed with the transfers between
Sibelius and Finale with MusicXML 3.0. We are now getting almost all of the
subtleties
of present day music notation when transferring files. Many thanks to the
team at Recordare!

If you have been using our Dolet 5 for Sibelius plug-in, you will be
delighted at all the new and improved features in version 6. MusicXML 3.0
support makes
it possible to export instrument sound IDs, percussion symbols, string mute
symbols, enhanced ornaments, and more. Dolet 6 for Sibelius also adds export
of hidden tempo marks; better export of user-defined lyric text. repeat
line, and metronome mark styles; more robust export of tuplets, endings,
fermatas,
and 2-bar/4-bar repeats; and Sibelius 7 support. There are more than 25 new
features in all.

While Sibelius 7 now includes built-in MusicXML export, Dolet 6 for Sibelius
lets you export MusicXML files for less money than a Sibelius 7 upgrade.
Dolet
6 for Sibelius is also your choice if you need to export MusicXML 3.0 files
from Sibelius. This is especially helpful for transferring playback sounds
from Sibelius to Finale 2012 with MusicXML 3.0's new instrument sound
taxonomy.

Dolet 6 for Sibelius works with Sibelius 5.1 and later. You may upgrade from
Dolet 5 for Sibelius if you purchased the older product from the Recordare
Online Store.

I'd be lost without both the Dolet plug-ins for Finale and Sibelius. I use
them both daily and have come to completely rely on their accuracy during
the
file conversion process.

Lisette,

How did you get that XML plug-in? That's what I've been asking on this list.
And, how much does it cost?

Hi Sandra
I have found that putting the page up the right way helps enormously, but
the results are never perfect. You will need sighted help. I have also
scanned a piece which sounded absolutely fine, but looked terrible - even
having odd time signatures with weird rests everywhere. But it did sound
fine.
If you need the music in braille at some point, you will need sighted
assistance. My sighted friends who use Sibelius actually say it's quicker
for them to key the melody line plus lyrics into Sibelius than it is to
fiddle about with a scanned image. I use scanning for getting some kind of
play back for myself, but have sighted people manually enter in the melody
lines plus lyrics plus dynamics of songs so I can get a good braille version

out of Goodfeel. I use the xml plug in from recoradre.com and then open that

in Lime. Works very well for me.

Good luck

Lisette
