Hi Dan,
Thanks a lot for your reply. As I said, I can turn the volume to the maximum
and it doesn't fix the problem. My wife even tried to turn it up with the
mouse, but that doesn't change things either.
Regards
Claudio

Claudio,

I've also found that the volume is sometimes far too low but adjusting the
master volume slider brings it back up again. As far as I've been able to
work out, this problem only occurs with new scores, in which Sibelius
sometimes automatically sets the master volume to a very low value
(somewhere around -60dB).

If you open the mixer and keep tabbing until you hear "master volume", you
should be able to press Ctrl+Up until the master volume is high enough.

As you've probably noticed, There's a delay before JAWS speaks the volume.
This is because JAWS is dragging the slider across and it has to wait for it
to settle before speaking the new volume. I should also point out that the
volume which JAWS speaks is only a best guess. This is because the volume
slider is not a simple linear slider and so I've had to code JAWS to do some
estimations.

Hope this helps,

Dear Jean-Philippe
Yes, I turned the levels to the maximum, but in sound essential they do not
effect enough. See also my reply to George.
Cheers

Dear Claudio,
I'm not too familiar with Sibelius yet, but have you tryed turning up levels
on the mixer?
And do you use the same sound card for Jaws voice and your music?
Cheers,

  Hello to everybody
When I use sound essential 16 or 32 bit Sibelius is to soft and Jaws
shouts
at me. Turning on the volume in the mixer to the maximum doesn't solve the
problem. Sibelius remains to soft; and when I turn on the master volume of
my PC, so that I can hear Sibelius better, Jaws of course starts shouting
at
me. Using default as output device is slightly better. But I like these
sounds essential, so I don't want to miss them. Can the volume be turned
on
in the contact player or do I miss some information about volume?
  Thanks a lot for suggestions
  Claudio
