Dave, The separate sound card won't make a difference. The issue is that the volume settings in Sibelius are too low. When ever this happens to me, it's only the master volume which needs altering. As I said to Claudio, I think this only happens when you create a new score. Can you tell me if you've experienced this in other pre-existing scores? And I have the same issues as Claudio. Comparatively speaking the sound essentials are very soft. I don't have the same issues with Sonar synths vs. JAWS or BIAB synths vs. JAWS. I'd like to know also if there's some way to adjust the volume of Sound Essentials internally -- I was just too shy to ask. Thanks, Claudio! Turning on the volume in the mixer to the maximum doesn't solve the problem. Sibelius remains to soft; and when I turn on the master volume of my PC, so that I can hear Sibelius better, Jaws of course starts shouting at me. Using default as output device is slightly better. But I like these sounds essential, so I don't want to miss them. Can the volume be turned on in the contact player or do I miss some information about volume?
