Hi, Dave, thanks for the suggestions. I first tried only maximizing Sibelius with alt space X. It worked for a moment but it went back to the contradictory state. I tried the sollution of increasing the delay in Settings Center and checked the preferences (it was in fastest so I didn't have to change anything). I'm still having the same issue. It's not being solved. Thanks for any new ideas on the subject. Another thing to check... In Sibelius, go to preferences (file/Preferences) and tab to the list. Make sure you have display showing and tab until you get to a set of choices smoothest, smooth and fast, and fastest. Set this to fastest. This controls the on-screen drawing of notes and sounds like smoothest takes longer. Mine was set to fastest, and by the way I just checked, and my Sibelius 5.2.5 on Windows 7 32-bit with a quad core processor works perfectly fine. Yes, James, it's totally so. It happens with note values as well just as you describe it. Hi, It even happens with note values sometimes. It'll say no quarter note, but it works. I don't know why it happens, but I just ignore it.
