Dear Dale
I don't really know, what I should tell you about the Dolet for Sibelius,
but I try.
Dolet is a plugIn and converts your score into MusicXML. It is good to go
for the latest version, because it converts more Score information to XML. I
use it very often. For example: I scan a score with Photoscore ultimate or
even convert a PDF-file from the internet with Photoscore ultimate, and then
send the result to Sibelius. Before doing so, I listen to the music in
Photoscore ultimate, just to know, if the scan is usable. In Sibelius I do
some editing, if necessary. With Dolet I convert the score to MusicXML and
open the result with Freedots or Lime.
If the Sibelius score does not come from a scanned score the converted
Result is of course much better. So I regularly convert scores, that I'm
writing myself, just for having a quick reference in Braille.
The recent version converts really just everything. You can find about this
by searching for MusicXML 3 and it's features. MusicXML 3 is described on
the webpage of recordare.
Regards
Claudio

Subject: [sib-access] No Word About Dolet
Tim and All,
I have received no firsthand report about how well Dolet works, as I had
requested yesterday. Should I get such word, and if it comes off-list, I'll
post it. Is it Claudio that also has experience with Dolet? Anyone who has
used Dolet, please tell of your dealings. Obviously, I want to know as much
about it as I can before deciding whether to purchase it. And yes, I know it
might become cost free in the next few months. I'm weighing that factor in
too. That time table could be annoyingly flexible. Sometimes one has to just
jump in and get a product.
