A little additional info to Nili's explanation. Don't just press the numbers, but do it in combination with the alt key. E.G. Alt+1, alt+2, Alt+3, alt+4 alt+5. This makes sure, that Sibelius uses the correct font, which is important if uou once plan to export your score to XML. Only this way, the XML exporter interprets the numbers as fingering.
