Annabelle, The vast majority of users on this list have little or no sight and are not able to use the mouse; Sibelius Access is after all software for visually-impaired people. Also, I don't think that many of us have a sighted helper sitting at our elbow all day. The key is to use a little sighted help wisely. A sighted helper could, for example, read the chapter called "3.1 Working with text" in the Sibelius Reference to you. This is a very short chapter and tells you all of the basics of editing text. You could then get them to watch while you try editing a few pieces of text, just to make sure that you've got it right. If you didn't see it anywhere in the Reference Guide of either Sibelius 5 or Sibelius Access, I don't know where I found it. Wouldn't it be smart to make a key command for editing text, to make it easier for people like me who don't have the ability to use a mouse, and who don't always have someone sighted there to help? -----Original Message----- From: sib-access-bounce@xxxxxxxxxxxxx [mailto:sib-access-bounce@xxxxxxxxxxxxx] On Behalf Of Dave Carlson Sent: Thursday, March 04, 2010 2:42 PM To: sib-access@xxxxxxxxxxxxx Subject: [sib-access] Re: Edit Text Annabel, I just looked, and there is nothing in the Sib-Access guide about Ctrl+Alt+e. I also checked the Sibelius 5 reference guide, and nothing there, either. Nada. Zip. Zut. Perhaps you thought Ctrl+Alt+Equals for 400% zoom level was it? Otherwise, you'll need to cite the paragraph and document you looked in. Dave I'm not sitting at my DAW now so I can't test this, but I think that key combination just allows you to enter an expression text? So I wonder why that won't work when I do that key combination? -----Original Message----- From: sib-access-bounce@xxxxxxxxxxxxx [mailto:sib-access-bounce@xxxxxxxxxxxxx] On Behalf Of Dave Carlson Sent: Thursday, March 04, 2010 1:15 PM To: sib-access@xxxxxxxxxxxxx Subject: [sib-access] Re: Edit Text Depends on whether it's a staff text item, or a system text item. Use the tab key to navigate to it, or use the edit/filter/advanced to look for it, or if it's a system text item, use Alt+f2 to list system items and select the one you want to edit. This is very basic stuff, Annabel. Read the Sib-Access reference and you'll learn more than posting questions. Isn't there a key command for "Edit Text" when you select text within a score? I thought there was a key command of CTRL+Alt+E that took you to the Edit Text field. Now when I try to press that key command, nothing happens. Even when I've selected text. What do I do next?
