Unfortunately this is not possible with speech. The problem is that Sibelius provides no method of selecting the beam or stem on its own without using the mouse. One work around is to use one staff and cleff signs instead. The issue of indicating left hand or right hand can be dealt with by adding text, "L.H." or "R.H." for left or right hand respectively. This is definitely not ideal, but until some method of automatically beaming across staves is introduced, we have no option. Unfortunately, in some cases, the beam will crash into the notehead. Since I have some vision, I can grab the beam physically with a mouse by hand. However, if you're totally blind, that's not an option. Has anyone ever given any thought to how to alter the beam, thus giving a little more stem to the colliding notes and preventing the beam from crashing into one or more of the noteheads of the cross-staff?
